Will Duquette is a reading machine. I wish I could knock through books the way he does. Thankfully, he shares with the rest of us in the form of reviews.

What've caught my eye recently have been two books he reviewed recently. His description of David Drake's Lord of the Isles was intriguing enough that I picked up the book, further ending my informal boycott of high fantasy.

Then, today, he posted a piece about a book that sounds like a goldmine of background info (speaking as a writer), Law for the Elephant by John Phillip Reid. According to Will, it's a dry, dusty history of the California and Oregon Trails. Research Research Research!!!

His piece on puttering makes me think I was born in the wrong era -- that's the way I want to live my life! Just puttering continuously without worrying about deadlines.

I'm still computer-less at home, looks like I may be that way for a bit, so posting will remain inconsistent, probably for the next month.
